Planar documentation
Planar is a desktop workspace for local AI image generation, editing, model management, and agent-assisted workflows.
This site documents the current application: how to install it, prepare models, work with images, and connect an agent through the embedded MCP server.
Start here
- Getting started — install Planar and make your first image.
- Workflows — understand generation, img2img, Refine, and the output gallery.
- Models & backends — configure native and Diffusers model stacks.
- MCP API — connect a local agent and call Planar’s tools.
The short version
Planar runs locally. Your prompts, images, model paths, and API keys stay in the app unless you choose an external model or service. The built-in MCP server binds to loopback and is designed for local agent integrations.
CURRENT STATUS
This documentation describes the current desktop app and its embedded MCP surface. Runtime tool discovery remains authoritative when wiring an agent.
